Worker bailed over fatal crash

A government worker who was charged with manslaughter in connection with the death of a Medway motorcyclist on the Isle of Man has been bailed.

Alan Ronald Osborne, 59, of Beaulieu Rise, Rochester, Kent, died in a crash on the Mountain Road on May 14, 2007.

His yellow and black Suzuki motorcycle was in collision with a Peugeot and a Fiat Ducato near the capital, Douglas.

Mr Osborne was on holiday at the time of the accident, which took place shortly before the start of the annual TT races.

Department of Transport sub-foreman Brian Tomlinson, 61, from the Isle of Man, was charged in May with manslaughter by gross negligence.

He appeared at Douglas courthouse on Tuesday and was bailed to return to the court on August 5.
