Young couple hurt in bridge barrier crash

A TEENAGE boy and a girl had to be freed from a car by firefighters after their vehicle struck a barrier on the Medway motorway bridge.

Both were injured and taken to Medway Maritime Hospital at Gillingham.

The boy, who is 18, was knocked out in the collision and was treated for shoulder and arm injuries by ambulance crews. The girl suffered lower back pain.

Police closed the coast-bound carriageway of the motorway for nearly four hours after Friday's crash.
