POLICE are searching for two passengers who attacked a taxi driver in Thanet. The young thugs were picked up from The Centre, Newington, in the early hours of the morning and asked to be taken to the Mulberry Tree public house in Dane Road in Margate.

When they arrived, one of the youths demanded the driver's takings. When he refused he was punched twice. After the driver sounded his horn, the thugs ran off empty-handed.

They were both white. One is aged about 16, 6ft tall and broadly built. He was wearing a dark blue tracksuit with vertical white stripes, and trainers. The second youth is aged was about 19, around 5ft 8in tall and slim. He was wearing a green baseball cap, a cream tracksuit top, dark blue tracksuit bottoms and trainers.
