DEAD LEG: Matt Holland

SKIPPER Matt Holland is doubtful for Charlton's match at Newcastle on Saturday after suffering a dead leg in Tuesday night's defeat by Liverpool.

The midfielder was replaced by Francis Jeffers in the 77th minute after he failed to shake off the knock.

Manager Alan Curbishley said afterwards that both Holland and striker Shaun Bartlett had treatment at half-time after sustaining early injuries.

He said: "Hopefully both will be fit for Saturday and will continue to have treatment.

"We've got a tough period coming up with three away games followed by three at home so this is going to be an important month and we'll need all of our players fit."
