Addicks take non-league midfielder on trial

CHARLTON have taken 19-year-old Tooting and Mitcham midfielder Dorian Smith on trial for the rest of the season.

Smith impressed after playing in a trial match for the Addicks against a side from the Ivory Coast two weeks ago.

Should he impress, Charlton have the option to sign him on a permanent deal.

Smith becomes the second player signed from a Ryman League club by manager Alan Pardew who paid Dulwich Hamlet £35,000 for Chris Dickson last March, signing him on a two-and-a-half year contract.
