CHARLTON supporters have been reassured that the club has nothing to fear from the forthcoming Stevens Report, which has probed allegations of a widespread bung culture among Premiership clubs.

Lord Stevens, the former Metropolitan Police commissioner, is set to publish his findings on Monday when it is believed that questions will be raised over 50 of 362 transfer deals investigated between January, 2004 and January 2006 involving Premiership clubs.

Up to five clubs are involved. But Charlton boss Iain Dowie said: "We have a process in place at Charlton which is very well audited in terms of checks along the way to ensure complete transparency.

"I do not often deal with agents. We have a general manager in Andrew Mills and chairman Richard Murray who deal face-to-face with it and that is why it works very well.

"If you keep the moral high ground in this situation, then no-one can cut across you."
