Daish furious over Charles dismissal

Ebbsfleet cannot appeal against Darius Charles' red card on Monday night because the player was sent off for two bookings.

Charles collected his second caution for diving but television footage clearly showed that he was tripped by Histon's Antonio Murray before he lost his footing.

The decision incensed Fleet boss Liam Daish but he revealed: "I've been told that you can only appeal straight reds.

"Darius was knocked three times before he went to ground. He was running at pace but on the video he is getting up trying to get the ball back because he is an honest lad.

"Someone who has probably never played football, and doesn't know the game in that sense, has stopped the kid playing through suspension. It does sicken and gall me.

"We're not asking for any help but against teams like Histon, who are a good side, organised and strong, you need a decent refereeing performance and we didn't get that."

Charles will now miss the Fleet's next match, at Kidderminster this Saturday.
