Gillingham extend the loan deal of midfielder Michael Doughty from Premier League club Queens Park Rangers for two months

Gillingham have extended the loan deal of QPR midfielder Michael Doughty for a further two months.

The midfielder, who turns 22 on November 20, agreed an initial one-month deal which was due to expire two days after his birthday, but will now stay at Priestfield until January 24.

Doughty, a former Wales under-21 squad member, made his debut as he played 78 minutes in Gills' 1-1 draw against Crawley Town last month and played the full 90 minutes as Peter Taylor's side went down 1-0 at Fleetwood on Saturday.

The Rs' academy product, who scored three goals in five games for the QPR under-21 side he captains before making the switch to Kent.

He has previously enjoyed loan spells at St Johnstone, Crawley and Aldershot and made 43 appearance on loan at Stevenage last season.
