Invicta Dynamos suffer weekend of mixed fortunes in NIHL South Division 1

Invicta Dynamos endured mixed fortunes in NIHL South Division 1 at the weekend.

On Saturday, they suffered their first defeat, losing 5-2 away to the London Raiders before returning to Gillingham and beating Solent & Gosport 10-6 on Sunday.

The Mos made the trip to Lee Valley on Saturday aiming to make it back-to-back wins over the Raiders, having beaten them 3-2 the week before.

The hosts went ahead but the first period ended level when Juraj Huska netted his first for the Mos, against his former club.

In the second period, the Mos again went behind and it wasn’t until early in the last when they levelled it up again, on 43.51 through Shaun Wild.

A succession of penalties hindered the Mos and the home side capitalised, scoring three more to take the points.

Dynamos got an early scare when they returned to their home ice the following day, as Solent took the lead with just 1.23 on the clock.

But by the end of the first period, the hosts were 5-1 ahead, with Huska (2), Jakub Klima, Daniel Hammond and Wild on target.

Solent pulled a couple back in the second, either side of Anthony Leone’s effort but Huska completed his hat-trick early in the final period to make it 7-3.

Three goals each followed during a frantic last session. Leone, Hammond and Callum Fowler all scored for the Mos to ensure victory.
