Dynamos cruising towards league title

Invicta Dynamos remain on course for a title party in Milton Keynes on March 1 after coming from behind twice to defeat Streatham Redskins 7-2 in London on Sunday night.

Despite their struggles in finding the net during the opening 30 minutes, the rest of the game was a one-sided affair.

The Dynamos have won 16 games in a row, but coach Kevin Parrish insists the last four months have not been easy for his side.

"It’s been hard because you can get complacent, especially over the last couple of weeks when we haven’t been playing against the best teams in the league." said Parrish.

"But we have been playing some really good stuff and we eventually showed that again tonight."

The Mos’ slow start helped the home side gain an early advantage through Perry Richardson, before Elliot Andrews’ backhand effort levelled things up going into the second period.

Again Invicta struggled, allowing Streatham’s only threat Martin Lambert to put the hosts ahead for a second time.

But goals 16 seconds apart by Andy Smith and Andrews, midway through the period, sucked the life from the Redskins.

From then on it was a breeze for the visitors as Jamie Dancey, Milan Kostolny, Smith, and most notably Martin Melichercik with a cannon from the blue line, hammered home the vast gap in quality.
