Gate's Clarke in fitness battle

Hayes v Margate

MARGATE are waiting to see if midfielder Adrian Clarke recovers in time for Saturday's Nationwide South trip to Hayes.

Clarke has missed the last two matches with an ankle injury, and is likely to have a fitness test before the game.

It's the first of three successive away trips for Chris Kinnear's side as they aim to stay on course for the play-offs.

Margate slipped three places in the table after taking only one point in games against Hornchurch and Lewes. Hayes are two points behind them, but have four games in hand, having won six and lost six of their 16 played so far.

Former Gillingham youngster Mark Green is making progress after breaking his leg at Hayes in early September. He is back in light training, but won't play again until the New Year.
