Gate's Edwards may miss basement battle

BILL EDWARDS: groin problem
BILL EDWARDS: groin problem

Margate v Carshalton Athletic

MARGATE defender Bill Edwards is the major injury worry ahead of the Nationwide South relegation "six pointer" against fellow-strugglers Carshalton Athletic at Homelands in Ashford on Saturday.

Edwards missed the midweek defeat at Crawley with a groin injury, while Greg Oates went off at half time, suffering from tendonitis in a knee which means he is unable to play two games a week.

Newcomer Eseyas Yhdego was also ruled out with flu and striker Darren Watson shrugged off a hamstring niggle to feature as a half time substitute, so boss Chris Kinnear will probably be unable to name his side until shortly before the game.

Margate are 16th in the table, three points and two places ahead of the Surrey side who are likely to include French defender Romauld Bouadji in their side. He made 10 appearances for the Gate earlier this season, before moving to Sutton.
