KENT'S Phil Anthony has been selected to represent Great Britain in next month's world duathlon championships in Hungary.

The 25-year-old from Walmer, near Deal, earned his call-up after two strong performances in the qualifying events at Swindon and Cambridge.

Anthony will be part of a four-man team which also includes 2005 world champion Paul Amey. Phil has also been picked for the European Championships in Edinburgh in June.

He said: "I have competed in the European Championships three times before as a junior/under 23 and senior. My best placing was 20th (2nd Briton home) in 2005.

"I have never competed at the World Championships before, and so I can't wait for that one."
