Gills a goal and a man up

GOAL: Leon Johnson
GOAL: Leon Johnson

Gillingham 1 Bradford City 0

A RARE goal for Leon Johnson on the stroke of half-time puts Gillingham 1-0 up at the break at Priestfield this afternoon.

The home side are also a man up after Kelly Youga saw red for the visitors for two bookable offences.

The visitors almost took the lead early on when Omar Daley found Marc Bridge-Wilkinson after a superb run and cross, but his effort was well blocked by Romain Larrieu.

Gary Mulligan went close on 26 minutes when his far post header was clawed away by Bradford keeper Donavan Ricketts, then Ricketts did well again to deny Ben Chorley from the resulting corner.

Gillingham: Larrieu, Southall, Chorley, Johnson, Jackman, Bentley, Crofts, Flynn, Easton, Jarvis, Mulligan.
Subs: Cox, Sancho, Collin, Ndumbu-Nsungu, McDonald.
