GILLINGHAM manager Ronnie Jepson remains hopeful of adding more "quality" to the squad before the match against Cheltenham.

The Gills kick-off their League 1 campaign on Saturday and Jepson, who has already brought in eight new faces to give his team an overhaul in preparation for next season, hasn't given up on improving his chances further.

Jepson said: "Last year I kept saying we need quality. Quantity is no good, we need quality.

"If you're going to be challenging in this league that's what you need – and that's what I'm still striving to bring in.

"I feel like this is my team now but I want that quality and the supporters want it too."
