Gills player of the month - vote now

Gillingham ended April with a run of three games unbeaten and with a place in the play-offs secured.

Fifteen players took part in Gillingham’s five games during the month and we’ve selected six of the best for you to choose the April player of the month.

April started with successive defeats against Barnet and Wycombe but the Gills have bounced back with wins over promotion rivals Dagenham and Chesterfield and a draw against Bury.

There weren’t too many goals during those five games with Mark McCammon, winner of the March player of the month award, netting two of the three scored.

Gillingham were tight at the back though and have kept clean sheets in their last two outings.

Vote now for your player of the month.

Barry Fuller

Gills needed picking up after the poor home defeat to Barnet and Fuller was the man to do it. He’s never shy to speak his mind or put his body on the line and he’s helped push the side into the play-offs.

Simon King

The reliable centre back walked away with four awards during the player of the year ceremony and his consistent performances continued throughout April, helping the side to claim two more clean sheets.

Stuart Lewis

The likeable midfielder made a big impression with a substitute appearance against Wycombe and he’s started the last three. He plays with tremendous determination and is showing some real quality.

Mark McCammon

The big striker scooped last month’s award and he’s stepped up his game another notch with two vital goals this month against Dagenham and Chesterfield.

John Nutter

Gillingham scored only three goals but left-back Nutter can claim assists for all three. He’s been in great form recently and has been solid in defence and creative when going forward.

Garry Richards

An inconsistent season for the big defender looks like ending on a high after winning his place back in the side. A solid few games alongside Simon King has helped Gillingham keep it tight at the back.
