Invicta Dynamos v Oxford City Stars

KEVIN PARRISH hopes it will be another party night at Gillingham Ice Bowl on Sunday.

If the Invicta Dynamos beat Oxford City Stars they will win the English National Hockey League championship for a third straight year.

But defeat to Oxford, and in their final game against Milton Keynes Thunder, could pass the crown to Cardiff Devils who have three games remaining.

Parrish said: "It should be good, win and the title’s ours again. We’ve had a mediocre few games and last weekend was probably the worst performance I have seen by an Invicta team, plus we had a week off training so we had got into a lacklustre habit.

"But the fact we’re playing at home for our title will give the boys a real boost. It will pick the team up knowing we can win it at home in front of our fans, so we can repay them back a little for all the time and money they spend supporting us.

"It always feels good to be able to give them something to cheer about."

Netminder Ian Rowlands was the man-of-the-match at Bracknell last Sunday as the Mos took another stepping to retaining their title, winning 5-3 thanks to goals from Andy Smith (2), AJ Smith, Alex Shaw and Donald Gagnon.

* The potential title decider starts at 5.15pm with tickets available either on the door or in advance from the Gillingham Ice Bowl on Friday and Saturday, costing £5.50 for adults and £3.75 for under-16s.
