STARK WARNING: Gills boss Ronnie Jepson

GILLINGHAM manager Ronnie Jepson has warned some of his players that their professional careers are in the balance.

The strong words came after the Gills threw away a half-time lead to lose 3-2 at struggling Rotherham on Saturday.

Jepson said: "The lads have got to show their worth.

"If they don't then they might not be here next year - and they might not be at a professional club anywhere."

Of the 19 first team professionals at Priestfield, 10 - Ian Cox, Leon Johnson, Danny Jackman, Brent Sancho, Michael Flynn, Danny Spiller, Matt Jarvis, Clint Easton, Luke Howell and Frannie Collin - are out of contract in the summer.
