Bromley v Newport County

A FORMER Premier League defender has been drafted in to help solve Bromley’s defensive woes.

Alan Reeves played 57 games for Wimbledon between 1994 and 1998 and has joined the club on an initial eight-week basis as defensive coach.

His first game coincided with Bromley’s back four producing an improved showing in the 4-1 win at in-form Eastleigh.

Bromley had conceded 11 goals in the last four games but boss Mark Goldberg revealed Reeves’ appointment was not a sudden one.

He said: "I have been searching for the right person for 12 weeks. Alan worked with the back four last week but we must not get carried away.

"It's about getting that consistency, and he hasn’t had the chance to impart the knowledge he will be able to over a period of time."

Simon Osborn (ankle, hamstring), Danny Hockton (back) and Steve Clark (foot) are doubts for Saturday’s visit of Newport County.
