Lillywhites turned over by basement side

Bromley 0 Basingstoke 2

A dismal display saw Bromley slump to a home defeat to Blue Square South's bottom side Basingstoke on Saturday.

It was the visitors' first win in 26 league matches - a dreadful run stretching back to the start of the year.

The decisive goals came in a three-minute first half spell just before the half hour.

First, on 26 minutes, Mitchel Bryant sprung the Bromley offisde trap before shooting low past Gareth Williams - and then an unmarked Ross Montague doubled the lead in the 29th minute with a near post header.

Warren McBean should have clawed the home side back into the game just after half-time but his close-range header was hopelessly wide.

The Lillywhites were poor throughout and managed only one shot on target - a 78th minute shot by substitute and debutant Ashley Robinson that was comfortably smothered by keeper Ross Kitteridge.
