Midweek county football preview

Ebbsfleet belatedly get their FA Trophy defence under way with a first round clash at Bognor Regis on Tuesday.

Fleet will be favourites to progress against opponents who are bottom of Blue Square South, having only won twice this season.

Boss Liam Daish could be without Darius Charles (ankle), Paul McCarthy (back) and James Smith (illness).

The game was originally due to be played on Saturday, but was postponed due to bad weather. The winners will host Stourbridge or Stalybridge Celtic.

Welling's clash with Weymouth also fell victim to the weather on Saturday, meaning the teams will meet at Park View Road tonight.

The Wings will welcome back defender Matthew McEntegart from suspension as they try to cause an upset against their Blue Square Premier opponents.

Jack Parkinson is ruled out so club captain Rob Quinn is likely to return to the starting line-up.

The winners will travel to Hednesdford Town or Nantwich Town in the next round.

Dover fans will get an early Christmas present with free admission to their Ryman League Premier Division clash against Tooting at Crabble.

Chairman Jim Parmenter said the club wanted to reward fans for their loyalty this season.

He said: "These are tough times for many fans and their families - yet our superb supporters have backed us all the way by turning up to watch Dover every week."

Alan Pouton is struggling to be fit for the game, but John Keister could return. Frannie Collin will have a fitness test after coming off against Dartford on Saturday.

Player-manager Andy Hessenthaler will not figure in the game having played against the Darts.
