Ramsgate's focus is on the league, insists Ward

Carshalton v Ramsgate

Ramsgate travel to fourth-placed Carshalton on Saturday insisting they have already put their confused midweek exit from the Isthmian League Cup behind them.

After losing 3-0 at Tilbury on February 24, holders Ramsgate were told by the League this week that they were being reinstated because Tilbury had played an ineligible player. The clubs were ordered to replay on Wednesday night, but then Tilbury successfully appealed and so Ramsgate were out.

But assistant-manager Danny Ward said: "Staying in the Ryman Premier Division is the only thing that matters for us this season, so good luck to Tilbury.

"The only annoying thing was that, because we were expecting to play Tilbury again on Wednesday night , I wasn't able to give several fringe players a reserve team run-out on Tuesday, but otherwise we are not bothered about being out of the cup."

Ward's one injury concern for the Carshalton game is right back Andy Hadden, who had to come off during last Saturday's 1-0 win over Billericay with a groin strain.

Ward said: "Carshalton are one of the best teams in the league but we will go there confident after last week's victory, and another clean sheet would do nicely."
