Same again for Kent's second cup tie

SYMONDS: Leads the side again
SYMONDS: Leads the side again

SPITFIRES look set to name an unchanged side for tonight's second Twenty20 Cup qualifier against Essex at The Mote at Maidstone.

Andrew Symonds, fresh from Friday's stunning 34-ball ton against Middlesex, will again lead the team and open the innings together with overseas locum Shahid Afridi.

Both Symonds and Ben Trott needed slight treatment for injury niggles after Friday's seven-wicket mauling of Middlsex, but will be fit for tonight's fixture.

Kent's only quandary surrounds Ed Smith, who looks set to miss out again despite consecutive totesport League half-centuries against Warwickshire and Essex.

The match is scheduled to start at 5.30pm.

Kent from: Symonds, Afridi, Carberry, Walker, Loudon, Tredwell, Dennington, Khan, O'Brien, Trott, Saggers, Denley, Smith.
