GARY LINEKER, Ian Wright and Steve Backley were among the sporting celebrities competing at the London Golf Club on Monday.

The club, near West Kingsdown, was host to the CoStar Celebrity Day where 14 celebrity teams competed on the Jack Nicklaus Championship Heritage course.

Also appearing were Strictly Come Dancing's Len Goodman, Anton du Beke and DJ Spooney. The event was organised to raise money for SportsAid - the charity which helps athletes when they are starting out.

Pro golfer Roger Chapman led his side to victory in the two from four stableford with 83 points.

Club member Stuart Gray had a day to remember as he hit his first ever hole in one on the par 3 third.
