CHATHAM boxer Johnny Armour will make the third defence of his WBU bantamweight title against Nathan Sting at Bethnal Green’s York Hall on April 12.

Armour was originally scheduled to fight on March 8 but a suitable opponent couldn’t be found. Now, however, a date has been set for Armour to face the former Aussie champion.

He said: “I’m surprised it wasn’t later in the month but I’m happy with the 12th. I was training hard before I was told, so I’ll be 100 per cent and will need to be.

“This is a huge fight for me because when I get through this one I’ll get a shot at Johnny Bredahl (WBA champion) and that’s the fight I badly want.”
