Warwickshire Bears v Kent Spitfires

Kent's rain delayed quarter final Twenty20 Cup clash with the Warwickshire Bears will get underway at 5pm but Martin van Jaarsveld will miss the game through injury.

The Edgbaston ground staff spent much of the morning mopping up after yesterday's storms and, after a cursory inspection at 3pm, umpires Jeremy Lloyds and Rob Bailey hoped for a prompt start.

With rain threatening, the match officials did however, check the ECB playing regulations booklet concerning cup bowl-offs - a timely reminder to Kent fans of their B&H Cup quarter final elimination here in 1994 when Nigel Llong missed twice to send the Bears through.

Kent make two changes to the side that beat Durham in last Friday's Friends Provident Trophy semi-final in Durham.

Simon Cook comes in for Robbie Joseph while Matt Walker replaces in-form Martin van Jaarsveld, who rests a slight hamstring strain.

Kent are hopeful the in-from South African will be fit for Friday's four-day game with Yorkshire back in Canterbury.

See kentonline later for Mark Pennell's detailed match reports after 20 overs and at the close with photographs of all the action by Barry Goodwin.
