Leeds 2 Gillingham 1

GILLINGHAM'S great FA Cup adventure ended after a rousing finale to last night's fourth round replay at Elland Road, TONY HUDD writes.

Trailing 2-0 to goals from Mark Viduka in the 11th minute and Eirik Bakke in the 58th, Gillingham stunned Leeds when substitute Guy Ipoua pulled back a goal five minutes from time.

Leeds, who thought they were coasting into the next round, suddenly found themselves living dangerously.

Ipoua missed a great equalising chance in stoppage time while player-manager Andy Hessenthaler failed to connect with the goal at his mercy.

But it was too little too late to prevent Leeds from going through to the fifth round.

Attendance: 29,355.
