3 arrested as cannabis factory is shut down

KENT Police arrested three people and closed down a cannabis factory after a raid on a home in a Kent village.

About 290 plants were discovered in one room at the property in Herts Crescent, Loose, near Maidstone, on November 13 with several other cannabis plants found in adjacent rooms.

Two youths, both aged 17, were arrested and are awaiting sentencing by magistrates at Maidstone after pleading guilty to cultivating cannabis.

A third person, a 37-year-old woman, is on police bail and is due to return to Maidstone Police Station on January 13.
