Maidstone: Appeal after 11-year-old approached by stranger near Mid-Kent College

An alert has been issued after a young girl was approached outside a Maidstone school and asked to get into a stranger's car.

The man, described as black with dark hair and a bandana, pulled up alongside an 11-year-old as she was walking through the Oakwood Park complex, close to MidKent College.

Chief Inspector Mark Hedges said: "The man offered her a lift home and, when she declined, offered to drive her to her mother. The young girl refused and the man drove away.

"We are keen to trace this man and establish the circumstances."

The incident happened around 3.20pm on Wednesday.
