Beware of lead thieves, police warn

POLICE are warning residents in a Kent town to be alert for lead thieves following a spate of incidents.

Several homes in the Maidstone area have had lead stolen from their roofs in the last few weeks.

In the latest incident, a home in Kennington Close had lead pulled away from the brickwork on the porch between February 22 and February 25.

Earlier this month, a home in Graveney Road had lead removed from the roof in similar circumstances.
