Bishop of Maidstone is on the move

The Bishop of Maidstone is leaving to take on a new role.

Bishop Graham Cray is to become The Archbishops' Missioner and Leader of the Fresh Expressions Team.

He described his eight years as bishop as "fulfilling and fruitful", during which he had made many friends.

"I move on with real regret," he said.

Since the publication of Mission-Shaped Church, Bishop Graham been involved in a number of national and overseas commitments as the work of Fresh Expressions has developed.

"This will now become the full focus of my ministry," he said.

"I feel very privileged that Archbishop Rowan has invited me to succeed Steve Croft as leader of the Fresh Expressions Team for what will be my last stipendiary appointment."

Bishop Graham lives in Charing with his wife Jackie, who will continue her role as Priest in Charge of St Faith’s, Maidstone.
