The woman who died after being hit by a train in Boxley has been named as Joanna Bowring.
The 32-year-old architect, formerly of Sherwood Avenue in Chatham, died on Monday.
An inquest into her death opened at the Archbishop's Palace in Maidstone this afternoon and gave the cause of death as multiple injuries.
A provisional date for a full inquest is August 11.
Police and ambulance crews were called at 9.30am on Monday to reports a person had been struck on the line between Ashford and Ebbsfleet.
On Tuesday British Transport Police confirmed the death is not being treated as suspicious.
