ONE of Britain's most notorious paedophiles is now living in Kent's County Town, it has been revealed.

Robert Oliver has been moved to secure accommodation in Maidstone after being driven from his home in Somerset by an angry crowd.

Probation bosses have been quick to reassure parents after his whereabouts were revealed by a national newspaper.

Officials say he is not allowed out of his hostel unsupervised and that he poses no threat to the public.

However, the arrangement is purely voluntary and he is, in effect, a free man having served his 15-year sentence for the killing of 14-year-old Jason Swift by a paedophile gang, led by the infamous Sidney Cooke.
