Maybe she was a music fan, but a dog found hanging out with the bands at the Hop Farm Festival last month has been reunited with her owner.

Tally, a two-year-old brindle female lurcher was discovered at the event at Beltring, Paddock Wood.

But thanks to the efforts of Tonbridge and Malling council’s dog warden, Lorraine Baseden, she was reunited with her owner Lisa Ryan after more than a year’s separation.

Mrs Ryan reported her pet stolen in June last year, but, as she was micro-chipped, she was able to be traced as Tally’s owner.

After an emotional reunion at the Hop Farm, Mrs Ryan said: "Tally is doing great and looking better already, I cannot thank Lorraine enough. She went above and beyond the call of duty - she was fantastic re-assuring me and I have phoned her since getting Tally back to give her updates."

Tally was suffering from mange and a few other health problems after being away from home for so long but in good spirits - and the smile on her face in the pictures proves it.

Cllr Owen Baldock, the council’s cabinet member for environmental services said: "It just goes to show how important it is for owners to get their dogs micro-chipped. It is painless, lasts the dog’s lifetime, takes just a few minutes and look at what happened here. A very happy owner and a very happy dog, too if Tally’s smile is anything to go by."
