Rush hour commuters faced long traffic jams on a route already prone to congestion at busy times.

One lane of the A249 Detling Hill was closed in the direction of Sittingbourne following a crash involving a car and a lorry close to Jade's Crossing near Junction 6 of the M20.

It has since been reopened and delays are starting to clear.

A passenger in one of the vehicles sustained minor injuries.

A Kent County Council Highways steward attended the scene to clear up debris from the collision.
