Tributes are pouring in for a father-of-three who died when his car crashed on a country lane hours before his birthday.
David Rose, who was due to turn 35 on Sunday, was killed in the smash in Pilgrims Way, Boxley at about 8.30pm on Saturday.
Loved ones have since left messages on social media expressing their shock and sending condolences to his family, while floral bouquets have piled up at the scene of the accident.
Dawn Wheatley wrote: "Dave was my husband's best friend. We were with him when this happened and we are devastated. My love to his three children, fiancée and family."
Tianna Keep added: "Rip Dave! Gonna miss seeing your big grin you always done!"
Mr Rose's white Ford Focus had travelled down Boxley Hill and was being driven along Pilgrims Way towards Boxley when it overtook a grey Toyota Corolla.
The Focus then collided with a red Volkswagen Golf being driven in the opposite direction, before rolling over and coming to a rest in a field.
Mr Rose, from Maidstone, was pronounced dead at the scene, and his next of kin were informed.
The accident happened around 100 metres before the turn-off to Boxley Timber and Fencing Supplies merchants.
The driver of the Golf suffered minor injuries.
Officers from the police's serious collision investigation unit are now appealing for witnesses.
Anyone who may have seen the crash or the cars involved beforehand is asked to call 01622 798538.
