Crews have been battling a fire in Lenham this afternoon.

The blaze broke out in the kitchen of a terraced house in Faversham Road.

Two pumps from Maidstone were called to the two-storey property at about 4.10pm.

Firefighters used breathing apparatus to enter the building and tackle the flames.

It took about 40 minutes to extinguish the fire.

No one was thought to be injured and it is not yet known what caused the blaze.

Crews have remained at the scene to ventilate the property.

Police are also in attendance.
