Maidstone: Crews tackle Penenden Heath house fire

Fire crews were called out to a house fire which started in a cupboard under the stairs and spread to the first floor.

Kent Fire and Rescue Service was called to the blaze involving a two-storey property in Barnhurst Road, Penenden Heath, at around 7.40pm on Sunday.

All occupants of the property were accounted for and there were no reported injuries.

Crews used breathing apparatus and the fire was put out within one hour.

KFRS were called to a second fire in the same area on Sunday evening when a small bedroom in a house in Chattenden Court caught alight.

A man and a woman in their 60s and a man in his 30s were all treated for smoke inhalation at around 5.30pm.

The house suffered fire, smoke and water damage and the cause of the fire remains unknown.
