Firefighters have been dealing with a blaze above a shop.

Crews were called to Mote Road in Maidstone at about 12.15pm.

The fire is believed to be above the Marmaris Off-Licence and Groceries store.

Residents say there is no access to Wat Tyler Way from Mote Road, and access to Mote Road from Hastings Road and Kingsley Road is blocked too.

Police are also at the scene.

Kent Fire and Rescue Service and Kent Police have been contacted for further information.
