Suspect arrested after 26 reports of homes in Lenham being targeted with glass jars

Homes in a village have been targeted with glass jars during a spree of criminal damage lasting almost two months.

Police have received a total of 26 reports of propertied in Lenham, near Maidstone, being attacked by someone hurling glassware at them.

Four properties are reported as having windows damaged as a result of the jars launched at them.

The incidents took place between January 31 and March 21, and they led to a number of plain-clothed patrols by the Maidstone Community Policing Team.

A suspect, a man in his 20s who is from the village, was arrested on suspicion of criminal damage on Friday morning.

He has since been released on bail, pending further inquiries, until April 26.
