Kit car driver pulled free after crash

Rescuers pulled a young driver free from his kit car after he crashed into railings.

The accident happened outside the Wilsley Pound animal centre, in Sissinghurst, around 10pm on Saturday night.

Neighbours who heard the crash went out to assist the driver who was trapped in the open-topped car.

Fire crews from Cranbrook and Hawkhurst were sent to the scene and cut the man free. It is thought he was wearing a helmet.

A spokesman for the South East Coast Ambulance Trust said the man had suffered concussion, and an arm injury. He was taken to the Kent and Sussex Hospital in Tunbridge Wells.
