A police helicopter was scrambled to help in the search for an elderly woman.

Officers and sniffer dogs went to Dickley Lane in Lenham the A20, Ashford Road at 1.50pm after a member of the public reported being concerned for the welfare of the woman seen walking into woodland there.

They were helped in their search by the National Police Air Service helicopter.

The woman was located safe and well at about 3.15pm.
