Maidstone United joint-manager Lloyd Hume said he is disappointed after the Football Association imposed a suspended six-game ban having found him guilty of misconduct, following an incident in the Ryman League, Premier Division game against Hendon in April.

Hume appeared before a two-hour disciplinary commission at Soho Square on Tuesday to answer a charge following a bust-up involving opposite number Gary McCann at half-time during the 2-0 defeat but has always maintained he was the innocent party.

"To say I am disappointed about the outcome is an understatement," said Hume. "I felt I did nothing wrong. Video evidence supported me and I didn’t swear or act aggressively. It beggars belief that they found me guilty."

Hume was also fined £50 but no other conditions were included as a result of the hearing, with the ban originally imposed at the beginning of last season now being activated.

Chairman Paul Bowden-Brown said: "I am not questioning the decision made by the FA and am disappointed Lloyd will not be fully involved in the first six fixtures of the season.

"He has my full support and I’m sure he and Alan (Walker) will make the appropriate arrangements during the ban."

Hume added: "I don’t think it will affect the team in any way, shape or form. It doesn’t stop me being in the dressing room and doing team-talks but it means Alan will sit in the dug-out in those games and I will watch from the stand."

Stones head to Bournemouth on Friday for a weekend pre-season
get-together. They will train this afternoon and then travel to play Winchester on Saturday.
