Kent Police discover cannabis factory in Hampstead Lane, Yalding

Close to 100 plants have been seized by Kent Police following the discovery of a makeshift factory in Yalding.

Officers from the Maidstone district policing team made the discovery after hearing the buzzing sound of a generator coming from two metal containers in land off Hampstead Lane on Sunday.

There was also a strong smell of cannabis with lights on inside.

Police entered shortly after 11pm and found 93 plants.

These were taken away for disposal the following morning after a warrant was issued under the Misuse of Drugs Act.

Enquiries are ongoing into who may be responsible for growing them.
