A man has been arrested after police were called to a house in Maidstone.

Officers attended Wrangelden Road just after 6.30pm following reports of a disturbance at a property on the street.

A 23-year-old man was arrested on suspicion of common assault and remains in custody.

The incident took place only a mile away from the scene of a suspected murder, where a man was gunned down in broad daylight.

A man in his 50s was arrested and remains in custody.
