A teenager who went missing from his Maidstone home has been found safe and well.

Richard Neill was last seen in Bearsted at 9.30am on Sunday.

The disappearance sparked a massive police search, which involved Kent Search and Rescue and the force helicopter.

A search centre was set up in Downswood Community Hall, in Chiltern Close.

Kent Search and Rescue teams were called away from a major training exercise to join the hunt.

It is understood that the search stretched as far as Thurnham, several miles away.

He was found by officers in the Maidstone area shortly after 6pm.
