Pub holds programme premiere

Pub regulars will gather together to watch their television debuts in a tale of Jack the Ripper.

Punters and staff at the Style and Winch, in Union Street, Maidstone, are holding their own "premiere" of Jack the Ripper - The Definitive Story, which was filmed at the historic pub.

The two-part documentary, which begins on Channel Five at 8pm, features many of the regular customers and employees.

Landlord Dave Savory said: "Everyone is really looking forward to seeing the finished documentary. It will be good to watch it all together."

The Victorian pub was chosen as a location for the documentary by one of the writers, Paul Begg.

Mr Begg, who lives a couple of doors away from the Style and Winch, will be at tonight's low key showing.
