A road in Harrietsham could be closed for up to 18 months as work starts on the construction of a new housing development.

Church Road will be closed from Monday, November 28 between the junctions with A20 Ashford Road and East Street.

The closure will enable Crest Nicholson Eastern to begin work on a new 96 home estate that will sit on both sides of the country line.

The alternative route is via A20 Ashford Road and East Street and vice versa. Harrietsham Parish Council does not expected to cause significant disruption.

Outline permission for the site was granted in 2015 despite opposition from residents.
