A motorist has been taken to hospital in a life-threatening condition after suffering a medical episode at the wheel.
Police and paramedics are currently attending the incident on Hermitage Lane which is believed to have happened at around 11am.
Traffic is at a standstill while temporary traffic lights have also been put up close to the Croudace Home development.
A spokesman for Kent Police said: "We were called at 11.09am on Friday, June 10, to a concern for welfare of a motorist in Hermitage Lane, Maidstone.
"Officers attended along with SECAMB and a man has been taken to a local hospital following a medical episode.
"The road was closed while the incident was dealt with and will be opened shortly."
A spokesman for South East Central Ambulance Service said: "We were called at 11.10am to a report that a man had collapsed at the wheel.
"We sent two ambulances and one car. The man required resuscitation at the scene.
"Our crews continued the resuscitation and the man was taken to Maidstone Hospital in a life-threatening condition."
