Tonbridge Angels manager Tommy Warrilow bolsters his side's defence with signing of Bromley centre-half Rob Gillman

Tonbridge manager Tommy Warrilow believes new defender Rob Gillman will provide the calming influence that his side needs.

Warrilow signed the 27-year-old centre-half, pictured, from Bromley on Tuesday and he goes straight into the Angels squad for Saturday's home game with Salisbury.

Gillman returned to Bromley during the summer after spending last season at Dover, but has been on the fringes at Hayes Lane and so accepted Warrilow’s offer to switch to Longmead.

Warrilow said: "I spoke to Rob during the close season but we couldn’t come to an agreement then. Now I’m delighted he has signed because he will provide the calming influence that we need.

"Rob has an excellent pedigree and his experience of Blue Square Bet South will prove invaluable.

"It’s been so frustrating watching us concede so many silly goals this season but in Rob, Ben Judge and Ben Andrews it means we’ve now got three experienced players at the back."

Warrilow is likely to be without Danny Walder (back) and Tim Olorunda (flu) against Salisbury but Jon Heath should be fit after missing last week's 0-0 draw at Thurrock.

The Angels are in action again on Monday when they travel to Chelmsford.
